Review 

I really enjoyed this emotional, sexy romance from Em Petrova. Kickin' Up Dust is the first book in a new series, and this book gets the series off to a great start with Brodie and Danica's story.  Em Petrova brilliantly balances humour, raw emotion, love and passion to create a book that I couldn't put down. It is sad in places, but there is also a great sense of hope and new beginnings. 

Brodie and his friends return from combat to find their hometown flattened by a recent storm. He also has a difficult task to complete - to deliver the belongings of his best friend Matt, who died in combat, to his grieving family. When he sees Matt's sister Danica, he's stunned to see the beautiful woman she's grown into. Brodie and Danica set about rebuilding their families ranching businesses, and their grief brings them closer together. Brodie is struggling with PTSD and doesn't think he's good enough for Matt's baby sister, but Danica has other ideas.

Brodie and Danica make a great couple, you could really feel the love between them. They were also very hot together, and I enjoyed seeing Brodie's dominant side. I also really liked the back story of Brodie and his friends working together to rebuild their beloved town, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this progresses in the next book. Kickin' Up Dust receives five stars.
