Unraveled by Him embraces the sensuality of Sylvia Day's Crossfire series and sweeping mystery and twisty nail-biting suspense. The first in a spellbinding trilogy that entwines, love, hate, romance, jealousy, lust and a white hot sexual adventure.

This erotically charged roller coaster debut by New York Times bestselling author Wendy Leigh, introduces us to Miranda, a free-spirited celebrity ghost writer who gets swept up into a dark world of passion and glamour when she meets notorious billionaire Robert Hartwell, an irresistible dominant older man.

After sparks fly between Robert and Miranda, he enables her to live out her wildest dreams of sexual submission, and she, in turn, inflames his dominance in every aspect. Although both of them are haunted by their past demons, they embark on a love affair that is part romance, part sexual exploration, and utterly addictive.

A truly riveting trilogy that entwines mystery, suspense and erotica and which breaks romance world boundaries like never before, fans of Lisa Renee Jones' Inside Out series will find themselves under the spell of the Unraveled series.

Review

I hate having to write reviews like this, so I'm going to keep it short. I was looking forward to reading this book as I loved the sound of the blurb, but unfortunately this book was not for me. I really struggled to finish it, and nearly gave up on it twice. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why I didn't enjoy this book very much, it just failed to keep my attention. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't connect with the main characters, it felt like hard work and took away any enjoyment from the book.

This book wasn't for me, but I know other people really enjoyed it - unfortunately I wasn't a good match for this book, which happens sometimes. Sadly I can only give it two stars.

Review

I hate not being able to finish books, I feel like I've failed when I don't read the whole book. Unfortunately I really didn't like this book and threw in the towel at the 30% mark.  The main problem I had was with the heroine - she seriously got on my nerves! I also found the dialogue to be quite stilted and simplistic, it didn't feel very natural to me.

Bethany has lusted after film producer Ari for months, but he's been holding her at arms length. Now that Ari is able to commit to a serious relationship he admits to her that the films he makes are porn flicks. Bethany then decides she wants to be a porn actress and no longer wants a relationship with Ari. This just felt odd to me, as the character had gone on and on about Ari, then suddenly changed her mind.  I gave up fairly quickly after this as Bethany was making me want to throw my eReader at the wall. Sorry this wasn't for me, two stars.

Book review - Gina's Education by Mariah Bailey (BDSM romance) 2/5 stars

Tina's Education: A BDSM Love Story
BDSM romance
2/5 stars

Gina’s Education: A BDSM Love Story is an adult fairy tale full of twists and unexpected turns.

Down on her luck after her identity has been stolen, Gina Perry applies for a job as a domestic servant, or so she thought, and quickly finds herself naked in every sense.

This job is psychologically challenging. Her new employer insists she call him Master, and there is a price to pay for not complying. A good Master, he pushes her limits and makes her grow. He teaches her about bondage and discipline, dominance and submission.

Master Robert re-names her Rose and gives her hope, but she isn’t sure she is up to the task. She’ll have to get to know herself on a much deeper level than most people ever discover.

Master Robert seldom shows emotion. Rose sparks something in him that he’s never realized before; a need to protect her, and not just in the games. While he’s learning about her, the depths of his feelings toward her surprise him. Robert’s never been in love and he resists, but he can’t resist his pride in her.

Robert sets out to right the wrong done to her and discovered a lot more than he expected.

Review
I really struggled with this book and eventually gave up at forty nine percent.  I found it unrealistic and I just couldn't connect with the characters or the story. Some readers may enjoy it, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

Gina had her identity stolen and ended up homeless. She applied for a job as a domestic servant, but the job wasn't what she expected. At her interview she's told to strip, and reluctantly she does. Gina is given a new name of Rose by her employer Robert, and she becomes his submissive. Robert doesn't do emotion, feelings or relationships but there's something about Rose that pulls at his heartstrings.

Gina/Rose has led a fairly sheltered life up until now, and I felt that she adapted to her new life far to quickly to be realistic. Gina was an ok character, but I really didn't like Robert. I kept on with the book until Robert found the person who stole Gina's identity, and how Robert and Rose dealt with them really put me off and I had to stop reading. Sorry, this book is not for me. Two stars.
