Starting Over is sweet romance with a good helping of deliciously kinky sex. I was surprised to find out that this was a debut novel as it felt like it was penned by an experienced author. This is a story of two people who have been hurt and let down in the past. They are learning how to trust again so that they can move forward in their lives.
Kate and Ben meet each other at a masquerade ball, and despite the fact that they're both wearing masks, the attraction is instant. Kate moved to a new city after being hurt by a man as well as her family, and was pleased to quickly get a new job with a handsome, sexy boss. After being betrayed by an ex, Ben has vowed never to be in a relationship again, but his thoughts start to change when he gets to know his new secretary. Kate is determined not to get involved with her boss - can Ben change her mind?
This a great story with two characters that I really cared about. We get to know Ben and Kate well and experience the ups and downs of their relationship with them. This is a nice, easy read that is ideal to relax with after a busy day. There are some fabulous sex scenes, including some involving BDSM - and these are smokin' hot! Overall I really enjoyed this book so it gets four out of five stars.

Letting out a yelp, I closed my eyes and tried to prepare myself for the fall, but nothing happened. Instead, I peeked through squinted eyes to find myself plastered to the chest I had run into, feeling a strong arm wrapped around my waist. My hands were splayed across the man’s pec, and I couldn’t help but flex my fingers slightly, feeling the muscle beneath the shirt. Wow.
“Are you all right?” a rich, gravelly voice above me asked. I blinked and realized just how close I was to the perfect stranger, and tried to add some distance, but his hand remained firmly on my hip.
“Yes, thanks to you… just a little unsteady.” I looked up and found myself stunned, looking into the eyes of the man who had been watching me dance.
Erin was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, where she resides with her husband and two kids. She is a stay-at-home mom and has long dreamed of having a published book of her own. Starting Over is her debut romance novel. When she isn’t writing, Erin has a love of most forms of art - painting, photography and crocheting.
