Review

Entice is a intriguing start to The Affair Series.  It's dramatic, unpredictable and is full of love, lust, lies and betrayal.  It's an emotional read with strong characters and an interesting storyline.  I can't wait to read the next book in the series as I have absolutely no idea which direction this story is going to go in.    I was impressed with the author's writing style, it flows well and is easy to read.

Laurie has been betrayed by her husband and her best friend and is taking a few days away to decide what her future holds.  While at the hotel she meets Liam and is instantly attracted to him.  Liam is handsome, mysterious and oh so sexy.  He invites her to dinner, but Laurie is unsure if she should go as she is still a married woman despite her husband's betrayal.

I don't usually like books with cheating in them, but in this case I can understand Laurie is tempted by Liam - she has been betrayed by the people closest to her, her self esteem is at an all time low and Liam is pretty irresistable.  Laurie's emotional struggles and battles with her conscience made great reading.  I really felt for Laurie, it seemed like everyone in her life was letting her down and betraying her.

Liam is a bit of an enigma, he plays his cards close to his chest.  He is very sexy and seems to care for Laurie, but I'd like to know more about him.  I really didn't like James, Laurie's husband, to start with but I am starting to like him now.  He seems genuinely remorseful about his affair, and obviously still loves his wife, but I'm not sure if he can be trusted.

I can't wait to to find out more about Laurie's men and to see what happens next in the next book.  Entice was a well written, emotional, enjoyable book and I give it five out of five stars.

S. Layne currently lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children. When she’s not conquering mountains of laundry and fighting a war against dust bunnies and cracker crumbs, you can find her playing with her children, curled up on the couch with a good book, or on the boat with her family enjoying Minnesota’s beautiful, yet too short, summer.

She lives off her daily pot of coffee, can only write with a bowlful of Skittles nearby, and has been in love with romance novels since before she could drive herself to the library.
