Orphaned and raised by her older sister Zandra, Jasmine Tremaine was taught to never trust anyone but herself. Longing to start a life of her own, free from Zandra's controlling nature, Jasmine returns to their parents' home town and finds herself rescued by Draven: the first man to make her feel safe. She soon finds out though that he owns a a dungeon - a sex club - and immediately worries that he is the exact kind of man her sister warned her not to trust, and certainly never to fall in love with. Draven Rowan is a Master without a submissive, and sees Jasmine as a caged animal desperate for escape. But will she be able to let go and take a chance on love and happiness? Could she trust the Dom in him to love and protect her? Or will she continue to struggle with her sister's trust issues?
Jasmine is a steamy little number and a rather enjoyable read. The plot was interesting and the main characters, especially the heroine, were complex and three dimensional. It is a story about trust, love and overcoming adversity and it kept my attention from start to finish. It is quite a fast paced story, and at times it felt a little rushed to me, but I still really enjoyed it.
Jasmine was raised by her controlling and over protective older sister, Zandra. Trying to gain some freedom and independence she travels to the town she was born it but ends up in big trouble. She is rescued by local BDSM club owner, Draven, and he instantly falls for her. He knows that she's the woman for him, but Jasmine's always been told by her sister to never trust men. Can she overcome her trust issues and the reservations that she has about Draven's job?
There are some hot scenes in this book, and there is some light BDSM. I must admit that I was expecting there to be more BDSM content, but looking back at the story and characters I think the author has pitched it about right.
Draven is an utterly dreamy character. He's so caring and protective, he's really sweet - yes I know it sounds strange describing a Dom as sweet, but he really is! I fell in love with Jasmine right from the first page, she's so brave but struggles to trust. Her trust issues stem from her sister, Zandra, who I really didn't like. I think the next book is about Zandra, so it will be interesting to see where the author takes this character.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and give it four out of five stars.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
