Topping the Alpha is another great book from Samantha Cole's fabulous Trident Security series - and this time we have an extra hunk to drool over as it's a m/m romance! I believe this is the first m/m romance that this author has written, but you would never guess as this book is brilliant. It is full of emotion, has lots of excitement and suspense as well as all of the passion and heat that you'd expect from a Trident Security novel. Ms Cole's characters are always well developed and have many layers to them, and the two leads in this book are no exception to this.
After a traumatic experience as a teenager Jake has avoided serious relationships, but there is something about his bosses younger brother Nick that he can't resist. Nick knows that his older brothers own a BDSM club, but he's never really seen the appeal - until Jake shows him what it's like to submit to him. But not everything is straightforward - Nick isn't out as gay and everyone assumes that he's a Dom, plus Jake is worried about the big age gap between them. Add in a dangerous mission to rescue a teenage girl and you have a book that you won't be able to put down.
The first book in this series was amazing, but Samantha Cole's writing and storytelling has improved with each book, which has resulted in some must read books. I'd definitely recommend this book (and the rest of the series) to fans of BDSM romances - give them a try, you won't regret it. Topping The Alpha receives five fabulous stars.
