Synopsis

Chelsea Ryder will give anything to protect her father's artistic legacy. But when a charismatic European dealer with vague credentials offers her a priceless masterpiece, she is shocked to discover what he demands in return…

Chelsea Ryder's struggling Los Angeles art gallery gives her entrée to the city's glittering art scene. Her goal is to amass the lost works of her father, artist Marcus Ryder, who died when Chelsea was only a child. When she is introduced to Ricardo de los Santos at a party, she is both intrigued and unsettled by his smoldering gaze and bold pursuit. Despite his claim to be an international art authenticator, Chelsea can discover little about the gorgeous, intense man whose invitations seem more like demands.

When Ricardo proposes to trade one of her father's works for a night of his pleasure, Chelsea fears it will unleash traumatic memories that she keeps at bay by maintaining rigid control of all of her relationships. Instead, Ricardo takes her to sensual extremes where pleasure comes from relinquishing control and true freedom is found only through submission.

Review

Xquisite is an enjoyable read with an intense Dom, plenty of sexy times and a good dash of mystery and suspense.  This is this first book in a series, and it does have a cliffhanger ending.  I will be looking out for the next book as I really need to know what happens next and to find out what secrets the hero is hiding.

Chelsea owns a struggling art gallery and is desperately trying to save money so she can purchase works of art that were painted by her father, who sadly died when she was a child. She is shocked and intrigued when art dealer Ricardo offers her one of father's valuable paintings in return for a night with him.  But Ricardo requires total submission, can Chelsea do this when her control is the one thing that helps her deal with a painful past?

The main characters in this book are both interesting and have their own secrets.  Chelsea had a traumatic childhood that has left her with mental scars and a need to stay in control.  Ricardo is dominant, extremely controlling, mysterious and seems to have dark and dangerous secrets.  Ricardo has quite an ego and is an intense, strict Dom - he may not be everyone's favourite type of character, but I found him quite appealing as he really seems to care about Chelsea and he is definitely sexy.

There are lots of hot scenes in this book, including some very sexy bondage scenarios.  There is definite chemistry between Chelsea and Ricardo, the pages of the book practically catch on fire when these two are together.

I'm looking forward to finding out where the author is going with the storyline, and give Xquisite four out of five stars.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
