Review

I really enjoyed this book, there are so many layers to it.  It is so emotional and had me in tears on several occasions.  Tragedy, mystery, dark secrets, mental illness, love and lust combine to create an exciting read.  It ends on a hell of a cliffhanger, but thankfully I have the next book lined up on my kindle to read.

Photographer CJ is suffering from agoraphobia after a huge tragedy.  After she forces herself to go outside she collapses and wakes up in a strange apartment.  Billionaire Asher found her on the street and asked his driver to take CJ to the hospital.  Unfortunately his driver doesn't speak very good English and having misunderstood his instructions, takes her to Asher's luxury apartment instead.  When they meet it's lust at first sight, there is real chemistry between them.  I'm not going say much about the storyline as I don't want to accidentally give away any spoilers, but there are lots of twists and turns with secrets gradually revealed.

CJ's agoraphobia and PTSD are a big part of this story and personally I felt the author dealt with it really well.  I have suffered with agoraphobia on and off for the last eleven years, so I can relate to the character's anxiety about going outside.  Mental illness is often portrayed unrealistically in novels like this, with instant cures, but the author showed here that it often takes a lot of work, professional help and support to learn to cope with or overcome mental illness.  The part with CJ forcing herself to go outside and  consequently collapsing showed that this is not something you can instantly cure yourself of (as a lot of people seem to think).

I like mysterious billionaire types with secrets - and Asher definitely has lots of those.  CJ is very likable, and I really felt for her.  She's made big mistakes in her past and is having to live with the consequences.  I also liked the fact that we didn't know what the tragedy in her life was straight away, we gradually found out more about it as the story progressed which worked well.

Exposure is a great book with hot steamy sex and a strong storyline.  The ending is a big cliffhanger so I'm off to read the next book now!  Five stars.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review
