Book review - Dirty Secrets by Jane O'Reilly 4/5 stars

Dirty Secrets by Jane O'Reilly
Erotic romance
4/5 stars

Dirty Secrets is a sexy novella with great characters, steamy scenes, a fantastic twist and a good storyline to back this all up.  When I read the blurb for this book, I wasn't really sure what to expect.  I wasn't sure how much emotion or romance there would be, as it sounded like pure erotica.  There are some seriously steamy scenes, but there is a lot more to this novella than just sex.  Dirty Secrets is the first book I've read by Jane O'Reilly, but it definitely won't be my last as I really enjoyed her writing style.

'With her self-esteem at an all-time low following a disastrous relationship Jules just needs a place to hide away, so when her childhood Theo offers her a place to stay she jumps at the chance!
But the handsome, suave and sophisticated man who greets her is unrecognisable as the teenaged nerd she knew ten years ago. She’s out of her depth in Theo’s new world, especially when he reveals the nature of the business that has made him a very wealthy man…
Theo owns and runs an exclusive club, a very private members club, catering to clients seeking something extra to spice up their private lives. But Jules’s shock and embarrassment turns to fascination and excitement when Theo gifts her a complimentary thirty day membership...'

Dirty Secrets is told from Jules' first person point of view. Sometimes first person POV's can seem stilted, but it really worked in this book, with the story flowing well.

Jules has just split from her boyfriend, and is struggling to cope.  Her ex was mentally abusive and has done a real number on her confidence.  When she needs somewhere to escape to she turns to Theo who she hasn't seen for ten years.  Theo runs an exclusive club that provides members with their ultimate fantasies.

Theo gives Jules a thirty day membership so she can explore her desires and find herself again.  Thanks to her ex she has lost confidence in her looks and completely lost her self worth.  Throughout this book Jules grows as a person, mainly thanks to Theo showing her that she is desirable and worthy of love and affection.  Both characters are really likable.  Theo is so sweet - sexy, sophisticated and kind - he really cares for Jules and is determined to help her.

I don't want to give to much away, but there is a twist near the end that I absolutely loved. It is an interesting story with deep emotions and love between the main characters.

Dirty secrets is a fun, sexy, well written novella that I would definitely recommend.  Dirty Secrets gets four out of five stars.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
