Title: Masquerade of Submission
Author: Carly O'Shea
Genre: Contemp/Erotic Romance
Release Date: July 14, 2015

Caitlin was familiar with broken hearts, hers had been shattered years before. Unvoiced desires filled her, fear of rejection her constant companion, holding her back from the love she wanted desperately.

Gavin’s work was the solace filling the empty void in his heart. Except everyone in his life had found that one, except for him, and as each day ticked by he became more certain that his deep dark desires were never going to be met.

Two Masques…

One Chance….

Will they take it… or let forever slip through their hands…

Masquerade of Submission is an enjoyable, quick read that left me with a smile on my face. It is actually quite a charming love story that has some passionate, sensual scenes to spice things up a bit. There isn't as much D/s in this book as I was expecting, and the BDSM that is included is fairly light and very well written, so this book is suitable for readers who are new to this genre.

Caitlin has been hurt in the past and she is afraid of being hurt and rejected again.  She has fantasies about submitting to her perfect Dom, but has been to afraid to seek him out. Her friend bullies her into joining the Masquerade dating agency and she is soon matched with a date. Gavin has everything he ever wanted - except someone to share it all with. A friend recommends the Masquerade dating agency and he's matched with Caitlin - but they don't know each other's names and they have to wear masquerade masks on their date. Gavin is enchanted by Caitlin and she thinks that he may be the dominant male she's been looking for. Unfortunately Caitlin's intense reaction to her date frightens her and she runs from him.

Running away from Gavin and really life in general becomes a bit of a habit for Caitlin and it does become a bit frustrating at times - I really wanted to sit her down and make her see how perfect Gavin is for her! She is afraid to love and let down her protective walls, but Gavin is determined to break those walls down and make her his. I liked both characters, and I enjoyed the chemistry between them. This is a fairly short book, but it still left me feeling satisfied at the end. Four stars.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
